Pro Optical Safety Rx Eyewear is dedicated to the eyewear (prescription glasses, prescription goggles, accessories) needs of the Canadian work force. However the first thing we are in the market of selling is actually not prescription safety eyewear, but the elusive customer service! Any optical company can sell eyewear, but we have found a very large part of the sale must be our customer service! We know what word of mouth is and means as a very large part of our growth has come from this alone!
We understand that trying a pair of glasses on for a few minutes may not dictate how they function for you in the field. Many factors can come into play such as the style of hard hat you wear, hearing protection or half mask respirators. So we give our customers a 3 month trial period. If you are not happy with the fit or functionality of your new glasses let us know. If we have to make new lenses, or change the frame and make new lenses we will take care of it with no hassels. We want our customers to be completely satisfied with our services from top to bottom.
We are an authorized dealer of many of the brand name frame companies and all our safety frames are ANSI Z87 and the lenses meet CSA standard Z94.3-07. All lenses are checked for proper safety thickness and ensuring the standards are being met with every pair of prescription safety glasses, and then stamped for verification. Please note, that in Canada there is no such thing as CSA approved prescription safety glasses. Prescription safety eyewear can meet the CSA requirements. At this time no optical lens manufacturing labs in Canada produce CSA certified prescription safety lenses. Any frame that has CSA Z94.3 stamped on it only meets the standard. An actual CSA certified frame would bare the CSA monogram. You must have a CSA certified lens and CSA certified frame in order to get the full CSA certification. And both lens and frame would need to be tested by the CSA. It is written in the Alberta OH&S code that :
229(2.3)Despite subsection (2), prescription safety eyewear may consist
of frames that meet the requirements of ANSI Standard Z87.1-2003,
Occupational and Educational Personal Eye and Face Protection Devices provided
the lenses meet the requirements of CSA Standard Z94.3-07,
Eye and Face Protectors
(Taken from the Alberta OH&S code)

Pro Optical Safety Rx Eyewear is constantly looking for new ways to better service our customers. Recently, we have worked closely with Armourx to develop a new safety frame that will address many problems our customers experience. Our staff has sat with over 13,000 workers since 2009 and as a result we have witnessed first hand the problems fitting safety frames to different faces, in different environments and also fit comfortably with other PPE. The new frame we have helped develop, called The Wraptor, will go a long way to address these fitting issues. Each Wraptor frame will come with 3 different bridge configurations to fit different nose shapes as well be able to fit on top of a respirator. The temples can be interchanged with a head strap allowing a tight fit while also fitting comfortably and properly under hearing protection, a separate strap will also be provided to work with the temples if desired. Two different removable foam gaskets will be included to fit different faces. Lastly, vented lens cups are included for those whose prescription requires a flat lens. The Wraptor will be 3rd party independently tested to ensure compliance with ANSI Z87.1 and CSA Z94.3. We are very excited to bring you this new frame and know that it will serve many customers well. Look for the release of The Wraptor in early March 2014
They will be doing our fittings for our clients who are a part of our program. Please check the eyewear services page for a local optical near you.
